UP Police Constable PET 2026 Physical Efficiency Test
The PET is a physical efficiency stage of the recruitment process. The official PET process notice specifies the running requirement and the time limit. Candidates should prepare according to the prescribed standard and follow all instructions at the test centre.
| Candidate Category | Running Distance | Maximum Time |
|---|---|---|
| Male Candidates | 4.8 km | 25 minutes |
| Female Candidates | 2.4 km | 14 minutes |
The PET is an important qualifying stage. Candidates should not rely on unofficial claims about extra marks, timing or standards. The official UPPRPB instructions applicable to the recruitment should be treated as final.
UP Police Constable Recruitment 2026 – What Happened Before PET?
The current PET stage follows the written examination and the DV/PST process. The written examination for the recruitment was conducted on 08, 09 and 10 June 2026. UPPRPB published the relevant result and list of candidates eligible for the Document Verification and Physical Standard Test stage on 31 July 2026.
The board then published information relating to DV/PST admit cards and the process in August 2026. After the eligible candidates completed the required DV/PST stage, UPPRPB released the PET process notice on 23 September and the latest PET dates and important information notice on 24 September 2026.
UP Police Constable PET Admit Card 2026
Candidates should download and print the PET admit card or call letter as soon as the board makes it available for their stage. The admit card is important because it can contain the candidate's reporting date, time, centre and other instructions.
Do not depend on a forwarded WhatsApp or Telegram message for the final reporting information. Check the official UPPRPB website and the recruitment portal mentioned in the official notice. Before leaving for the centre, verify your name, roll number, date, reporting time, venue and document requirements.
Documents and Items to Check Before PET
- Printed PET admit card/call letter, if issued.
- Valid original photo identity proof as instructed by the board.
- Documents or certificates specifically mentioned in the official instructions.
- Recent photographs, if required by the admit card instructions.
- Water and basic personal items allowed under the centre rules.
- Comfortable sports clothing and footwear suitable for running, subject to the instructions of the test centre.
Because centre-level instructions can change, candidates should read the latest notice and admit card carefully rather than following a generic checklist from another recruitment.

UP Police Constable PET 2026 Preparation Tips
Since the PET is based on a time-bound running requirement, preparation should focus on endurance, pacing and consistency. Candidates should avoid suddenly increasing their running distance immediately before the test.
- Start with a comfortable warm-up before running practice.
- Build endurance gradually instead of attempting the full target at maximum speed every day.
- Practise pacing so that you can maintain a steady speed throughout the required distance.
- Include rest and recovery days in your routine.
- Stay hydrated and follow a balanced diet suitable for your activity level.
- Use the same type of footwear during practice that you plan to use at the test, subject to centre rules.
- Do not take unverified medicines or performance products for the PET.
- On the final days, prioritise recovery and follow the official reporting instructions.
UP Police Constable Selection Process 2026
The recruitment process includes multiple stages. The written examination was followed by the release of candidates eligible for DV/PST.
